Data available exclusively to members

WIRA members enjoy access to more than 1,000 pages of tabulated data tables, which are vastly more extensive and detailed than the top-line Summary Report available to the public on this Web site. And these tables are easily searched by our member-only search engine.

Members can access:

1. Extensive details about water-related incidents and injuries. This includes 31 different facts about incidents, ranging from the age and gender of victims to the body of water where incidents occurred to whether alcohol or swimming ability played a role, and so on.
2. Reports categorized into 18 geographical areas. This includes figures tabulated as national totals, totals by region, province, and territory. Local breakdowns of the WIRA data are also available.
3. Figures on fatalities, major injuries, minor injuries, and rescue incidents.
4. Data on a full range of water-related activities, such as boating, swimming, etc.
5. Data reported as either absolute numbers or a percentage of totals.

Even though members can access more than 1,000 pages of WIRA data tables, we make it easy to find the particular page of information you need. Our member-only search engine allows you to pinpoint your data. You can choose to display figures by geography, by numbers, or percentages, and for the particular incident facts you are interested in. For example, the number of victims by age on a national level or the percentage of incidents that do (or do not) involve alcohol consumption in Ontario. And so on.

Members also have the option of downloading WIRA data tables to work with on their own computers. They can also work online using our Web-publishing software to format and download graphs or charts displaying the WIRA data.
